Learning to learn:

A special pathway enabling all our young people

to achieve as much as they possibly can and to flourish in adult life

What you notice about West Hill is that it looks and feels like a secondary school, but the SEN provision, strategies and expertise are evident from the moment you enter the building – for example with the use of symbols to support communication. Our classes are all named after scientists, marking the period when we were a specialist science college.

We have a wonderful learning environment which includes two state-of-the-art science laboratories and specialist rooms for technology, art and music. We also have excellent outdoor learning spaces, such as an eco-cabin, field with orchard, horticulture area, outdoor gym, woodland area and football cage.

West Hill is recognised as a National Support School and National Teaching School.
